A jailer who was distracted by an NBA playoff game as two inmates tore out ventilation grates and escaped will be suspended for 20 days for failing to count prisoners properly, the sheriff says.

Most inmates and several jail employees were watching the basketball game May 30 when David Palmer and Ricky Phelps pried open metal grates in the ceiling and ducts to gain access to the roof, Ohio County Sheriff Art McKenzie said.
