* Blue Shield of California has named Peter F. Scott president and chief executive, succeeding Charles W. Stewart, who died June 11. Scott, 65, is former chairman and chief executive of San Francisco-based Di Giorgio Corp., a distributor of food products and building materials.
As a member of the Blue Shield board of directors since 1987, Scott has served on a number of the board’s committees. He is also past chairman of the California State Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the California Business Roundtable.
