Software Firm Moving Its Base to Moorpark

Bill Gibbs, president of Gibbs & Associates, a computer software producer, has lived in Moorpark for 14 years, commuting all that time to his company’s headquarters in Chatsworth.

In August, Gibbs will get his wish to live closer to work. Occasionally, he’s even going to bicycle to his firm’s newly leased headquarters on Tech Circle in Moorpark, according to marketing manager Kristin Kelley.

Of the company’s 15 employees, five others besides the boss already live in Ventura County and will benefit from the move, Kelley said.

Kelley said Gibbs & Associates expects to increase its payroll if the company is successful with a new computer-aided design system that will be introduced in the fall. The system, which can be used with both IBM- and Macintosh-compatible personal computers, will assist in the production of metal parts for the automotive, aerospace, health care and other industries, Kelley said.

The Woodland Hills office of Told Partners Inc. represented Gibbs & Associates in leasing its new 6,700-square-foot headquarters.
