San Marino : Remote Parking Lots OK
The City Council last week unanimously approved an ordinance that allows remote parking lots to be counted toward the parking requirement of businesses that want to enlarge.
Under the amendment adopted Wednesday, private off-site lots 300 feet away or more would be restricted to store employees, and those under that distance would be available to customers only.
The number of required spots for an establishment is regulated according to size. For example, office buildings must have one space per 250 square feet; medical facilities, one per 150 square feet, with a minimum of three.
