BIENVENIDOS: With 58,924 immigrants declaring Orange County as their intended new home in 1991, the Anaheim-Santa Ana metropolitan area now ranks fourth in the nation among metro areas for immigrant settlement. According to a U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service report, No. 1 was the Los Angeles-Long Beach area, which had 256,779 immigrants. Then came New York City and Chicago. Following up at No. 5 was the Miami area and then San Diego.
