NEW YORK NOTEBOOK : Late News From Cuomo

New York Gov. Mario M. Cuomo said Sunday he would have considered the vice presidential slot if Clinton had asked. “If Governor Clinton had called me up and said, ‘Mario, I think for the good of the country,’ of course I’d consider it,” Cuomo said in an interview. That must have been news to the Clinton staff, which was told by Cuomo weeks ago that he didn’t want to be on the list of vice presidential possibilities.
