Kids’ Meal Deal: Taco Bell in Irvine has joined forces with the Walt Disney Co. for its first movie tie-in promotion since “Batman” in 1989.

The Irvine-based subsidiary of Pepsico Inc. will be packing a special “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid” child’s meal with jigsaw puzzles, flying discs and other items promoting the new movie.

“Kids will enjoy the added fun while parents will be glad to know that it is a lot for the money,” said Ron Snyder, Taco Bell’s vice president of marketing. The kid’s meal at $1.69 will consist of a basic soft- or hard-shell taco or a burrito, with a cinnamon twist and a soft drink.

The promotion is scheduled to last 60 days starting with the movie’s premiere Friday. The film is a sequel to the 1989 surprise hit “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” which also stars Rick Moranis.
