WHAT’S UP, CHUCK? Costa Mesa artist Chuck Jones, who helped mold Bugs Bunny’s character some 50 years ago, will speak at tonight’s South Coast Plaza Village film festival opening in Santa Ana for the wacky rabbit. Jones, 79, a longtime Bugs Bunny director, has some insight into why Bugs has stayed in people’s hearts so long: “Most comedians play losers. But Bugs is a comic hero. . . . I dream about being Bugs Bunny. But when I wake up, I’m always Daffy Duck.”
