Pickup Hits, Kills Boy, 3, on Birthday
COSTA MESA —
A 3-year-old boy riding in a wagon on his birthday was struck and killed Thursday by a pickup truck, police said.
Dusty Lloyd Trent of Costa Mesa was taken to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach after the 5:36 p.m. accident and was pronounced dead about an hour later, police Sgt. Tom Winter said.
Winter said Trent was riding his wagon in the 300 block of Victoria Street when he was struck by a Ford pickup traveling east. No arrests were made and the incident is under investigation, Winter said.
