SAN CLEMENTE : Girl, 12, Is Forced Inside Home, Raped
A 12-year-old girl was raped Tuesday afternoon after a man forced her inside her home and blindfolded her with a bandanna, police said.
Authorities do not believe that the rape is linked to a serial rapist who attacked at least five women and spread terror throughout San Clemente between September, 1990, and last March 1.
San Clemente Police Sgt. Russ Moore said the description of the assailant that the girl gave police was “not even close” to that of the serial rapist, who was never captured.
The girl told police she was returning to pick something up at her house on the 200 block of La Paloma about 5 p.m. when a man grabbed her from behind and forced her inside, Moore said. Before returning to her house, the girl had been playing with her two sisters in a neighbor’s front yard, Moore said.
