A musical variety show performed by stage, screen and television celebrities, a raffle and buffet dinner as well as a celebrity tennis tournament are planned this weekend in Vista to raise funds for the Moonlight Amphitheatre.

Personalities featured in the Las Vegas-type revue and the tennis tournament include Master of Ceremonies Frank Bonner (Herb on “WKRP in Cincinnati”), Richard Kline (Larry on “Three’s Company”), Ilene Graff (Marcia Owens on “Mr. Belvedere”) and Caryn Richman (Gidget on “The New Gidget”).

The theater is hosting “Hollywood at the Moonlight” to help finance improvements to the Moonlight and the addition of a 350-seat indoor playhouse.

On Saturday, hors d’ouevres, a dinner buffet and dessert will be served at 6 p.m. on the tree-lined parking tiers of the amphitheatre. At 7:30 p.m., gates open for general admission to the show; no food or drink is allowed in the theater but concessions are available for picnic-style dining.

At 8:30 p.m. Saturday, the Celebrity Gala Revue begins in the amphitheatre. An Afterglow Reception with the Stars will be held at 10:30 p.m. on the amphitheatre’s outdoor patio. Tickets may be purchased by calling 630-7650 or by coming to the Moonlight fund-raising office, located beneath the Moonlight Patio from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today and Friday. The Moonlight Amphitheatre is located in Brengle Terrace Park, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista.

Tickets are $50 and include dinner, the show and reception. A $25 ticket will buy a reserved seat for the show; a $20 ticket buys general admission-grass seating.

At 9 a.m. Sunday, the Celebrity Round-Robin Tennis Tournament begins at the Vista Tennis Club, located at 685 Taylor St. Tickets are $5 at the gates.
