Rainbow Reports 2nd-Quarter Surge

Rainbow Technologies Inc., the Irvine software security company, said its profit for the second quarter increased 55% to $1.4 million, or 27 cents a share, from $913,700, or 23 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales were up 36% to $6.4 million from $4.7 million. For the first half of 1992, earnings were up 50% to $2.4 million, or 45 cents a share, from $1.6 million, or 41 cents a share.
