Pro-Choice Republicans Challenge Ferguson
Gil Ferguson misses the point in urging Republicans to remain united even though disagreeing with the pro-life platform.
The pro-life platform requires adherence to a narrow view. It promotes legislation to restrict individual freedom. Many Republicans are leaving the party because of the oppression of individual liberty inherent in that cause. On the other hand, Democrats with a pro-choice platform are allowed to think and judge for themselves and their families. Pro-choice does not restrict or dictate conformance to a narrow view. It does not require the individual to believe in abortion. It does allow everyone the freedom to follow his or her own conscience. It is apparent the Democrats need not leave their party because of this issue.
I will vote for freedom of choice and align myself with those willing to go on the line to support that freedom.
