Auto Production Up: Japanese auto production was up in June, although domestic sales were down and exports only steady, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Assn. said. Production rose 1.1% in June from a year ago to 1.1 million units--the first rise in seven months. The rise was due to an increase of 2 to 2 1/2 working days in June compared to June, 1991. Domestic sales fell 2.3% to 644,621 vehicles. It was the 14th consecutive month in which sales fell short of the previous year’s level. Exports were nearly unchanged in June from the previous year, the association said. In June of 1991, Japanese makers exported 448,936 cars.
