Free-Trade Agreement
Bush and all the others rallying around the free-trade agreement with Mexico insist it will mean more jobs for the U.S., not less.
Bull! This trade agreement is all about bigger profits for U.S. companies, not more jobs for U.S. workers. Witness Smith-Corona’s decision to bail out for Mexico. The company is profitable making typewriters and word processors in New York. Why move to Mexico? Bigger profits.
Our politicians and corporations are selling us out. What they fail to consider is this: America is the biggest marketplace in the world because we have the biggest middle-class in the world. When our living standard reaches the levels in Mexico, where will they find their buyers then?
