The city of Santa Clarita has hired a new transit manager to handle its complaint-plagued transportation system.
Ron Kilcoyne will replace Mike Prior, whose contract was not renewed.
Kilcoyne, former manager of transportation planning for the Alameda County Transit Authority in Oakland, will be responsible for all transit operations in the city, including commuter bus routes and Dial-A-Ride service.
Residents who use those services have complained about delays and overcrowding.
Kilcoyne will be paid $62,352 a year, said city spokeswoman Gail Foy.
