DID IT THEIR WAY: Laguna Beach High, the oldest functioning high school in the county, began a $6.4-million face lift Friday, complete with new classrooms, a swimming complex, a library-media center and some extra civic pride. . . . Frustrated by attempts to get state funding, officials came up with the money entirely through fund-raising and city help. . . . . “We just said, ‘We’re going to do it ourselves,’ ” says district official Ron Clement. “And do it the way we want.”
