Glendora : Cable Service Extended
Foothills Cablevision Ltd., will continue to provide cable service to Glendora residents for the next 15 years under an agreement approved last week.
As part of the contract approved Tuesday the cable company will pay the city 5% of its quarterly gross revenues and replace the existing 25-year-old system with a fiber-optic network within the next two years.
Connie Tiffany, library director, reported at a previous City Council meeting that Foothills Cablevision will also provide $250,000 to the city during the next 15 years for equipment in support of local programming. The new system will also allow city officials access to the cable distribution system in the event of emergencies or disasters.
