Controversy Over Agency’s Suit Against Toll Road Foes
So, the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Agency is suing the four environmental groups that have been doing their utmost to impede the progress of the corridor.
I protest! What happened to democracy? Is this the proper action to take when communities are threatened by a state monolith? Does our government have the right to attack its own citizens for having the audacity to challenge a big public works project? Does our government have the right to attack conservation groups because they have obeyed the law? I repeat, what happened to democracy on its way to the courts?
