San Pedro Peninsula Hospital Finances
There seems to be a very troubling misconception in our community about San Pedro (Peninsula Hospital’s) need for donations.
The proposed affiliation with Little Company of Mary Hospital would mean a $12-million capital infusion for our community hospital. Because of this, some people apparently feel San Pedro Peninsula Hospital no longer needs their contributions. Nothing could be further from the truth!
The reality is that San Pedro Peninsula Hospital will need more than $30 million over the next five years simply to stay current with modern medicine. As you can see, $12 million represents only one-third of what we need.
The San Pedro community has always been very generous in supporting our hospital and this is no time to stop. The overriding purpose of the foundation is making sure that San Pedro has a community hospital during a time when many cities are losing theirs. We will succeed only if we all remain committed to helping the hospital with donations, volunteer work and other forms of contribution.
