OXNARD : Husband Is Arrested in Wife-Beating Case
An Oxnard man was arrested Saturday after his wife claimed he had beaten her, police said. Jose Martin Amezquita, 23, of Oxnard was arrested on suspicion of battery and parole violation.
Police responded to a call from Maria Izquierdo, 35, Amezquita’s wife at 6:45 a.m. When officers arrived at the couple’s house in the 100 block of C Street, Izquierdo slipped out the back door to safety, according to police reports. She suffered cuts on her face but refused medical attention.
