The U.S. national soccer team, outrun and outplayed Friday during a 1-0 loss to Colombia, must deal with an even quicker and more talented Brazilian squad tonight.
The game, at 6:30 at the Coliseum, will conclude a two-day, four-team tournament, which is raising money to help rebuild Los Angeles. Mexico and Colombia will play at 4 p.m.
Unlike the United States, Brazil has not had trouble putting the ball into the net. The Brazilians embarrassed Mexico, 5-0, Friday night. Last February, they beat the U.S. team, 3-0.
Said U.S. defender Fernando Clavijo: “They have 11 players and we have 11 players, so anything’s possible.”
