Police Group Calls Off Time Warner Protest: The Combined Law Enforcement Assns. of Texas, a 12,000-member police group, has called off its boycott of Time Warner Inc. in connection with the company’s promotion and distribution of the controversial song “Cop Killer” by the rap artist Ice-T. The song is being pulled from distribution at Ice-T’s request. Said CLEAT President Ron DeLord: “We are confident that the law enforcement point of view penetrated into the inner sanctums of the Time Warner corporate structure . . . .”
