LOS ANGELES : Telephone Worker on Pole Spots Bag of Stolen Money
A telephone company worker perched atop a utility pole spotted a bag containing $63,000 taken during an armored car robbery at the Queen Mary.
The Pacific Bell employee, who declined to be identified, noticed the bag Saturday morning on a flat rooftop and turned it over to police, said Long Beach Police Lt. Jack Starbird. Two of the alleged robbers were caught in South Los Angeles after leading police on a high-speed freeway chase after the July 9 robbery.
The bag of money was found on the roof of a home near where the chase came to an end, Starbird said.
