Three Keating Associates Settle With SEC: A U.S. District Court in Los Angeles granted a permanent injunction penalizing three individuals named in the SEC’s case against Charles F. Keating Jr. They are Judy Wischer, president and chief operating officer of American Continental Corp. and an officer of Lincoln Savings & Loan Assn.; Mark Sauter, former corporate counsel of ACC; and Andrew Ligget, ACC’s former chief financial officer. All agreed, without admitting or denying guilt, not to repeat the alleged offenses and to cooperate with the SEC investigation. The SEC alleged that the three prepared misleading financial reports to try to help Keating deceive regulators about Lincoln’s financial condition. All three agreed to cooperate with future SEC investigations of American Continental.
