Two children’s art classes have been added to the Newport Harbor Art Museum’s summer lineup in Newport Beach. “Mini Masters,” for ages 2 1/2 to 5, is meant to encourage experimentation, expression and development of art-making skills through several hands-on activities. It will meet Wednesdays and Fridays, Aug. 19 through 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. Cost: $35. “Wonderful Watercolor,” for ages 8 to 12, will explore various watercolor techniques on Mondays Aug. 10-31 from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost: $40. Information: (714) 759-1122.
Rancho Santiago College art instructor Patrick Crabb, recipient of a 1992-93 J. William Fulbright grant, is using the funds for a six-week tour of universities and art schools in New Zealand. A ceramicist who lives in Tustin, Crabb plans to share his new knowledge of New Zealand art and culture with his students.
