BUENA PARK : Buena Park High Has New Principal
Students at Buena Park High School will be greeted by a new principal this fall.
Tom Triggs, who has been the principal at La Habra High School for 12 years, was appointed Wednesday to the position at Buena Park.
“He has done a very good job at La Habra, and we know he will be missed at La Habra,” said Shirley Finton, an assistant superintendent at Fullerton Union High School District which has jurisdiction over both schools. “But he can bring a lot of his experience over to Buena Park.”
The downside of the transfer is that La Habra High School might not get a replacement for Triggs by the time the academic year begins Sept. 8.
“We would like to have someone in place before school starts, but it might not work out that way,” Finton said.
Meanwhile, Buena Park High School Principal Christine Hoffman is leaving the school to take a position in the district headquarters as an administrator for instructional services. In her new position, she will work on districtwide programs in career education, special education, specially funded programs and pupil personnel services.
