Bertelsmann Forms New Venture: A division of the worldwide media company announced that it is forming with New York-based Thursday Night Concerts a new company aimed at tailoring music to the pay-per-view television market. The company, called Semaphore Entertainment Group, will combine Bertelsmann’s worldwide music marketing presence with Thursday Night Concerts’ experience in producing televised, home-entertainment programming. Semaphore named as its chief executive Robert Meyrowtiz, an industry veteran who has produced music and comedy specials for Home Box Office.
