Time Warner Merges Cable TV Divisions: Time Warner Inc. will consolidate the two divisions of its cable television operations, eliminating about 100 positions, mostly white-collar managers. Under the move, Time Warner Cable, the nation’s second-biggest cable TV operator serving 6.8 million subscribers, will merge its American Television & Communications and Warner Cable Communications into a single unit. Corporate operations will be based at ATC’s Stamford, Conn., headquarters.
