Kids and Saturday TV

In response to Howard Rosenberg’s Aug. 10 column, “Kids Lose as ‘Saturday Today’ Caters to Adults,” it’s bad enough that children have to look at the tired, limited animated cartoons that the three networks force-feed them, but c’mon NBC--a Saturday morning news program in the same vein as the “Today” show?

Children don’t go to school all week struggling with homework, term papers and tests to get up early on a Saturday morning to look at the news. When are adults going to understand this?

Instead of trying to turn Saturday morning into “CNN for Kids,” why don’t the networks improve their stale cartoon programming?
