State-of-the-Art Storage: Ingram Micro Inc. geared up for the future by spending $3 million on its warehouse automation program.

Linwood (Chip) Lacy, chairman of the computer distribution firm, said Friday that the company must ship to its dealers more than 14,000 computer hardware and software products. In a few years, that figure is expected to more than double to 30,000 products, Lacy said.

“Business is getting more complicated, and we will see a lot of product churn,” he said.
