Dolco Packaging Corp., a Sherman Oaks manufacturer of plastic packaging products, reported a $335,000 profit in its second quarter that ended June 30, in contrast with a year-earlier loss of $1.59 million.
The company’s sales rose 8% in the second quarter, to $14 million from $13 million.
During the 1991 period there were $1.2 million in costs related to plant closings and the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, from which it emerged in July, 1991. Dolco also attributed the turnaround in the latest quarter to a larger product line and customer base, and lower raw material costs.
Dolco’s six-month profit was $869,000, on sales of $28.5 million. A year earlier, it lost $2.18 million on $28.9 million in sales.
