LOS ANGELES : Mitchelson Pleads Not Guilty in Tax Fraud Case

Share

Famed palimony attorney Marvin Mitchelson pleaded not guilty Monday to tax fraud charges and said his dispute with the government was over “a difference in accounting methods.”

A federal grand jury indicted Mitchelson last week on charges that he understated his income and overstated his deductions between 1983 and 1986. Mitchelson said outside court that he will file a blizzard of pretrial motions seeking to get the case dismissed before it reaches trial.

“The U.S. attorney’s office thinks the cash method is the only way, but the IRS provides several methods of accounting,” Mitchelson told reporters.
