Monrovia : Traffic Project Approved
The City Council gave the green light Tuesday to county plans that would improve traffic flow on Foothill Boulevard, Duarte Road, Mountain Avenue, Huntington Drive and Myrtle Avenue.
Robert Sandwick, public works director, said that a county traffic committee plans to synchronize traffic signals on those streets so that traffic will flow more smoothly, especially during peak hours.
The council’s action gave formal approval to the idea, sought by the county before it advanced to the design stage.
If county funding can be secured for the project, 26 intersections in Monrovia will be synchronized along with other intersections throughout the San Gabriel Valley, Sandwick said.
