Impasse Over State Budget

A suggestion to prevent a California fiscal collapse: Why not increase the state income taxes by 10% providing that state employees take a 10% cut in salaries and perks at the same time? While I’m no “fat cat,” I would gladly pay a higher income tax if this compromise could be achieved to prevent fiscal calamity!

We can’t expect the federal government to bail us out. But California is still a great state and we can cooperate to resolve our problems. Perhaps we can curtail some state government services, discontinue some, and privatize some at lower costs?
