West Hollywood : Debate on Police Initiative
The West Hollywood Democratic Club will host a public debate on a controversial initiative to establish a West Hollywood Police Department. The department would replace the Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies that now provide law enforcement for the city.
Proponents of the initiative and representatives of the committee opposing it will make presentations and will be available for questions from the audience. After the debate, the club will vote to take a formal position to oppose or support the initiative, which will appear on the November ballot.
The debate will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at in the Multi-Service room at Plummer Park in West Hollywood.
