COUNTYWIDE : Philippine Consulate to Hold Workshop

Visas and other documentation needed for travel to the Philippines can be obtained during a one-day workshop Friday at the Ventura County Government Center in Ventura.

The Philippine Consulate General, based in Los Angeles, will be offering passport services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ small conference room on the fourth floor of the Government Center, 800 S. Victoria Ave.

Supervisor John K. Flynn helped arrange the consulate’s visit to make it more convenient for the county’s significant Filipino population to make travel arrangements, said Edward Sajor, a Flynn aide.

It is the consulate’s first visit in a year, although Flynn’s office is working on increasing the frequency of the visits, Sajor said.

“We’d like to get them here once a month because we have a lot of Filipino constituents who ask for these services,” he said.
