President Bush’s Speech

In writing about Republican women (“GOP Women Serve Grit, Not Tea,” Commentary, Aug. 19), Elaine Ciulla Kamarck seems to have overlooked one important fact: The “prominent Republican women” are all busy saving the so-called men from themselves; none of them are candidates in their own right. This isn’t progress, it isn’t even new. Women have been saving men from themselves for several thousand years. In the Democratic Party, the women are running for office themselves. Perhaps they just don’t believe in sending helpless, sniveling little boys to do a grown woman’s job. I’m sure Marilyn knows how to spell potato .
