7-Eleven to Get New Distributor: The Dallas-based Southland Corp., parent of 7-Eleven stores, said it will sell some of its distribution and food processing business to McLane Co., a wholesale service company that is a unit of retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. The companies said they plan to complete the deal by mid-November. Terms were not disclosed. Southland Chairman Clark Matthews said it would begin using McLane’s distribution services, which already supplies 7-Eleven stores in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Utah. It serves more than 30,000 stores nationwide.
