ROOTS REVISITED: About 20 Santa Ana youths will wing their way to Mexico next month to meet with President Carlos Salinas de Gortari, and visit museums, archeological and historic sites. . . . It’s all courtesy of the Mexican government, which is hosting 2,000 California schoolchildren of Mexican descent to give them a chance to “visit their roots,” says Diane Thomas of the Santa Ana Unified School District. “The kids are really excited. It’s an incredible opportunity.”
