News Commute: Marlene Galan, wife of Arizona Atty. Gen. Grant Woods, will start work as a general assignment reporter for KCBS-TV Channel 2 in Los Angeles on Sept. 8. A station spokesman said Galan, a former reporter at KPNX in Phoenix, will commute between Phoenix and Los Angeles one day each work week and on weekends, although Arizona newspapers reported she would commute daily by catching a 4:45 a.m. plane. The station also says that Pat Lalama, a field reporter for KCBS on a per diem basis for about six months, was hired full time this week.
