ST. LOUIS — Two top executives of Comprehensive Care Corp., which owns the Starting Point hospital in Costa Mesa, resigned Tuesday.
Ann Hiles, investor relations manager for Comprehensive Care at its St. Louis headquarters, said James Carmany, who was president and chief executive, and Donald Simpson, chief operating officer, have left the company. Richard Wolfe, vice chairman of the board, will succeed Carmany, she said. Robert Obsurn will become chief of operations.
Comprehensive Care operates 10 hospitals for psychiatric patients and substance abusers, Hiles said. For the nine months ended Feb. 28, the company reported a loss of $5.2 million on revenue of $43.7 million, said John McHugh, health care analyst with Kemper Securities Inc. in Chicago.
