From One Hole to Another at Casino
What symbolism: Patrons who dig themselves a deep hole at one casino’s tables will be able to gaze upon a mock-up of the ultimate hole--the Grand Canyon--in the same facility.
Circus Circus Enterprises Inc., the gaming company that started the trend of offering family entertainment at casinos, said it will build an amusement park with a Grand Canyon theme.
The five-acre Grand Slam Canyon, which will cost $75 million, will be situated on a deck above the parking area at the Circus Circus hotel and casino. It will open next July.
Grand Slam Canyon will include 140-foot peaks, a 90-foot Havasupai Falls and a coursing river. Covered by a vented, pink dome, it will feature a climate-controlled atmosphere.
Park attractions will include a flume ride, roller coaster, two pools and restaurants.
