GOP Sending ‘Elvis’ on Clinton Bus Tour

AUSTIN, Tex. — Republicans plan to respond to Democratic presidential candidate Bill Clinton’s Texas bus tour this week by trailing him around the state with an Elvis Presley impersonator.
Clinton and running mate Al Gore plan a two-day bus trip from San Antonio to the Louisiana border beginning today.
Mark Sanders, a spokesman for the state Republican Party’s Victory ’92 effort, said the Elvis impersonator would follow much the same route, singing and serving bologna sandwiches.
