Three Camarillo teen-agers were arrested Friday evening on suspicion of stealing a car and trying to flee from Port Hueneme police on a chase through red lights and construction barriers in Oxnard, authorities said.

Two 15-year-old girls and one 17-year-old girl were arrested on suspicion of auto theft and evading arrest after failing to stop their vehicle, a 1989 Buick Century stolen from the Los Angeles area, Port Hueneme dispatcher Amy Larsen said.

Sgt. Jerry Beck tried to pull the car over at C Street and Pleasant Valley Road about 6 p.m., but the driver continued east on Pleasant Valley from Saviers Road, running several red lights and reaching speeds of up to 80 m.p.h., Larsen said.

After weaving across lanes and plowing through construction barricades at Etting and Olds roads, the car finally stopped when it was blocked by concrete traffic stops in the 2200 block of Etting Road near Ocean View Junior High School, she said.

The three girls tried to flee on foot but were apprehended without further incident, she said. They were released to their parents pending a court appearance.
