Bo Davis, barred by the NCAA for steroid use, will be in court today asking a judge to make him eligible for Louisiana State’s opener against Texas A&M.; The senior noseguard is looking for a temporary injunction and a reprieve from his one-year suspension.

LSU issued a statement saying the school had exhausted every appeal within the NCAA to restore Davis’ eligibility and must now abide by the association’s bylaws. Coach Curley Hallman and Davis would not comment.

Davis, a 6-foot 273-pound senior, was declared ineligible by the NCAA after a positive test on Feb. 8, 1991 for steroids, which are used to enhance muscle growth and development.
