College Football
Starting quarterback Garrick McGee was suspended from the Arizona State football team after a uniformed policeman served him a summons while McGee was attending a class. Athletic Director Charles Harris also suspended linebacker Tim Smith, although Smith apparently had complied with the orders of a Tempe justice of the peace and resolved the petty theft charge against him. Both redshirt freshmen allegedly stole goods from two stores close to the campus last October and December.
