PALMDALE : 17 Held on Charges Involving Cocaine

Share

A six-week investigation of rock cocaine street dealers in Palmdale culminated this week in the arrest of 17 people and issuance of warrants to arrest seven others, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Wednesday.

Fourteen of those arrested were adults and three were juveniles. Three adults and four juveniles are still being sought. Deputies also seized three cars and three guns, said Sgt. Bob Denham, a spokesman for the Antelope Valley sheriff’s station.

The city’s central areas have been plagued this year by drug and gang activity, prompting calls for a crackdown by deputies. Some areas north of Palmdale Boulevard and east of the Antelope Valley Freeway are considered so dangerous that residents have been warned to avoid them.
