The suspension of Arizona State quarterback Garrick McGee will remain in effect all week, Athletic Director Charles Harris announced Thursday.
That means McGee will miss the season-opener Saturday night against No. 2 Washington. Former fourth-stringer Troy Rauer, a freshman, will start at quarterback.
McGee, a freshman, and reserve linebacker Tim Smith were suspended Tuesday, originally for two days, as the school investigated their role in a string of burglaries at campus-area stores. Smith is now under the same one-game suspension as McGee.
