CHRISTMAS IN APRIL: Tustin songwriter Rex Benson got a personal preview of the Christmas song he and partner Steve Gillette wrote for Garth Brooks, which appears on Brooks’ new album (F2) “Beyond the Season.” Brooks played a tape of the song for him on his tour bus last spring. . . .
